Green Design: SAIC Special!

May 28, 2007

For those of you who are still in Chicago or who are sticking around to take summer classes, check out the latest GFRY Design Studio project: a Sullivan Center Roof Farm! Sadly, it’s not going to be going into production, but the architecture/interior architecture/designed objects people in the Sullivan building have a lot of cool ideas going.

For those of you who don’t get to Sullivan Center that often–also known as 36 S. Wabash–here’s how to get there: Take the elevator up to the 12th floor, turn right and continue down the hallway. The AIADO ‘gallery’ is just past the vending machines. I have no idea how long it will be up for, so stop by if you get a chance! I’ll try and get some pictures up today too.

‘What’s your favorite thing to do with agave nectar?’

Unfortunately I’ve been without a computer for a week now (ugh) so Green Design is taking a little hiatus, but it’ll be back up next week, hopefully. Although in relation to both of these subjects I’ve been intrigued by all the responses to Steve Jobs’s A Greener Apple statement…my particular favorite is MacWorld’s Eight Ways to Go Green.

And if you all need a laugh after finals, crit week, and just the general end-of-the-semester panic, check out The Top Ten Veg Pick-Up Lines.
